Activities - There's plenty to do at Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays!
Airlie Beach is the gateway to the travel destination of the Whitsunday islands and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There are over 74 tropical Whitsunday islands to choose from and over 100 trips leaving from the mainland each week! So why limit yourself to one Whitsunday island when you can visit them all while still enjoying luxurious mainland resort accommodation at a budget price.
Visit any one of the nine island resorts from the mainland via helicopter, water taxi, seaplane or maxi-yacht for as little as $35 pp per day or opt for one of the smaller eco-friendly cruises that visit only National Park islands. The resort's on-site booking office can offer advice on any and all tours.
Whitsunday Yacht Charters
The Whitsundays is home to the largest bareboat yacht charter fleet in the South Pacific. Most of the Whitsunday yacht charter companies are based at Abel Point marina, a short 10 min walk from the resort, providing Whitsunday yacht charters to the exquisite Whitsunday Islands.
Choose from luxury 60ft sailing yachts, motorised cruisers and explore the National Park islands, fringing reefs and deserted beaches at your leisure.
Costing $8 million, the Airlie Beach Lagoon is similar in size to Brisbane's Southbank (at nearly 3 ha.). It is a perched saltwater lagoon - swimmable all year round - and best of all it's completely free to the public. Additional facilities include a children's playground and wading area, electric BBQ, picnic tables, sand beaches and extensive parklands.
Action Adventures
Diving is the number one adventure activity in the Whitsundays and the resort has its very own Whitsundays dive centre and dive pool on site. Log onto the ProSail Dive website for the latest information.
Other Whitsundays activities include skydiving, sea kayaking, parasailing, ocean rafting, croc-spotting, quad bike bush adventures, game fishing, helicopter joy flights and much much more.
