Frequently Asked Questions about Arrival

How do I get there by car?

Follow the signs to Airlie Beach at the Proserpine exit. Head past the Whitsunday Shopping Centre in Cannonvale. As you go over the next hill you will see the turn off to Abel Point Marina on the left at the bottom of the hill. Turn left onto Shingley Drive immediately after turning off and we are the first complex you see on your left. (See 'Contact Us' for map)

Can you arrange airport transfers?

Yes, we would love to book a transfer to or from the airport for you. Please ask when making your booking or the day before departing Shingley Beach Resort.

Is there parking available?

Yes, all our apartments have shared undercover parking off the main street and close to your apartment. The rear apartments have individual lockable garages available to guests.

When is reception open?

Reception hours are 8:30am-6:00pm Monday to Sunday

We also have an on-site manager available 24hrs a day

When is Check in/ Check out?

Check-in is at 2:00pm and Check-out is at 10:00 am

Late Check-out may be arranged by contacting Reception but is subject to availability.

What if I am arriving later?

If you know you will be arriving late please inform us prior to reception closing so we can make alternative arrangements for your check in.

Does every apartment have a balcony?

With the exception of two poolside apartments, every apartment at Shingley Beach Resort enjoys its own private balcony facing the waterfront. The larger apartments have a balcony on both levels.

Are the apartments fully self-contained?

One, Two and Three Bedroom apartments are fully self contained with full kitchen and laundry facilities.

The Studio apartments have kitchenettes which include microwave, smaller sized refrigerator and stovetop. Free Laundry facilities for guests of Studio Apartments are conveniently located close by.

Are the apartments air-conditioned?

Yes- All the apartments have air conditioning and overhead fans.

How often are the apartments serviced?

The apartments are self contained holiday apartments so unlike a hotel we do NOT service the rooms or change linen daily. If you are staying 7 nights or longer your apartment will be serviced mid stay. However, if you would like an extra service, please contact reception as we are happy to provide this for an extra charge.

Does every apartment have a good view?

All apartments have a northerly aspect facing the Coral Sea. Every room has a good view but due to the positioning, some have a better ocean view than others.

Please ask when booking if you would like to request a greater Ocean View Apartment.

Do you have an apartment suitable for the disabled?

Yes, we have an apartment designed for the mobility impaired. It has a wheelchair accessible shower as well as safety rails and is located poolside. We also have a lift reserved for the disabled to access the apartment level from Reception and ground floor.

Is baby equipment available?

We have cots and cot linen available for hire, as well as strollers and high chairs.

Cots are available for $8.50/night

Is there free Wi-fi?

Yes, we offer in house guests free complementary WIFI for one device per room with a 500mb/1 day limit. More internet options can be purchased for very reasonable prices from Reception.

Can I hire Beach Towels?

Yes, we are happy to provide guests with a beach towel upon request-free of charge. If you wish to replace your beach towel with a clean one there is a $2 charge.

Is there a swimming pool?

We have TWO lovely well maintained pools located within the resort.

The largest pool is 18m long with childrens wading area and a deeper 3m end.

The smaller pool is made up of 2 plunge pools with a small waterfall between them.

Is smoking permitted at Shingley Beach Resort?

All of Shingley Beach Resorts apartments, common areas and pools are smoke free zones. If you wish to smoke on your apartment balcony this is permitted, however we do request you close the apartment door to avoid smoke going into your apartment.

A minimum $200 cleaning fee will apply should you be found to have been smoking in your apartment.

Can I book a day tour through you?

Yes! Our staff can offer helpful information to help you choose a tour and then book for you at no extra charge. There are a large variety of tour brochures in Reception for you to choose from.

What shops are nearby?

Along the front of Shingley Beach Resort you will find PAYA-a clothing & homewares boutique, ENLIVEN- Massage & Body Centre and KABELLO- Hair & Tanning Salon.

The nearest Shopping Centre is a pleasant 15 minute walk along the waterfront boardwalk. Whitsunday Shopping Centre has a Coles Supermarket, Target Country, The Reject Shop, Post Office, Banks, a newsagents and specialty stores.

Where can I eat?

A five minute stroll along the waterfront boardwalk will take you to Barcelonas Tapas Bar at Abell Point Marina. This is a great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner as you watch the boats.

Sorrentos is located at the South end of the marina and offers lovely Italian Cuisine Breakfast, lunch and dinner with stunning views.

The main street of Airlie Beach has a large variety or restaurants to dine at and is a 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive away.

How far away is public transport?

Public Buses run from Whitsunday Shopping Centre, Abel Point Marina and Airlie Main Street- all within walking distance of the resort. If you wish to book a taxi, Shingley Beach Resort can quick dial one for you at Reception.

If you are going on a day tour, many tour operators provide a free bus transfer to and from the resort.

Do you cater for Weddings & Functions?

Yes! Waterline on Shingley is a Wedding Venue located poolside within the resort.  It can cater up to 200 people for a cocktail function or 120 for a sit down dinner.  It captures the warm sea breezes from open windows on three sides and has a picturesque view over the marina.

It is operated by My Rainbow Catering to provide sensational food to your guests.

If you are thinking of holding a conference there are 2 conference rooms which can cater for small or large groups.
