Location - The Shingley Beach Resort, Shingley Beach at Airlie Beach
Shingley Beach Resort, Shingley Beach is located in a dead-end cul-de-sac on Shingley Beach, approximately 5 minutes drive from central Airlie Beach. It is one of only three waterfront resorts on the mainland. A coastal walkway provides access to Abel Point Marina and Village (10 mins), Cannonvale Shops (20 mins), and Airlie Beach Lagoon (20 mins) without ever having to cross a road! Ideal for families wanting to wear out their kids!
Northery Aspect at Shingley Beach Resort, Shingley Beach
Shingley Beach Resort, Shingley Beach faces due north, so the sun is always overhead and never in your eyes. In summer when the northerly winds roll in, there's always a cool breeze while in winter, the resort is protected from the strong southerly winds by the surrounding hills. More importantly, unlike the rest of Airlie Beach (which faces East), you can enjoy watching spectacular tropical sunsets from your balcony!
Easy Access to Abel Point Marina & Village
Shingley Beach Resort, Shingley Beach is one of the closest accommodation houses to Abel Point (Airlie Beach's only marina development). It's a leisurely ten minute stroll to shops, restaurants and hundreds of boat trips that leave daily for the islands and the reef from Airlie Beach. No car-parking problems, no expensive cab fares, no waiting for buses .....no worries!
Shingley Beach - Fishing and Facilities
Shingley Beach is an all-tide beach with few surrounding mangrove areas which means you can enjoy the view from the resort without being eaten alive by mosquitoes and sandflies. Deep-water access adjacent to the beach (via a 400m long rocky promontory) and plenty of live bait ensures the fishing is great (just ask the locals - it's one of the favourite fishing spots in the area - mackerel, trevalley, whiting, barramundi and cod are all commonly caught!). Parklands opposite provide shaded picnic tables, toilets.
